Who is Sacred Zone?
My name is Harry Yudistira. I’m a scientist with a PhD in Microbiology, and a musician with GAS (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome). I write rock music. I am a Canadian, originally born in Indonesia before immigrating to Canada.
Tell us about your career so far.
I started performing around 2011 with friends in Winnipeg before forming my own band called “Harden” in 2012 – where I was the songwriter, lead guitarist, and lead vocalist. Harden played in many different bars and events in Winnipeg. I also played guitar for the Winnipeg R&B singer Tiffany Ponce and the Japanese pop-rock band “Bounce”. Around this time, I also did some guitar teaching.
Around 2018, I moved to Toronto and, after teaching myself music production, I started my solo project “Sacred Zone”. To date, I have released 4 singles and 2 music videos.
How would you describe your sound to a four-year-old?
It will wake you up haha
What’s your favorite album of all time?
My, this is hard…hmm… Maybe “Clockwork Angels” by Rush.
What does musical success look like to you?
Owning a mansion with 20 Lamborghinis hahah. Just kidding. One time, somebody told me that one of my songs really speaks to him. And that to me is a success! And the feeling I got knowing that my song lifted someone’s spirit… priceless!
What is next for you?
I am in the process of recording an album. Stay tuned!
